El Dr. Gerry Mugford es  miembro del Sistema Nacional de Investigadores (Nivel 2) y tiene perfil PRODEP. Es profesor-investigador con amplia trayectoria en los campos de la enseñanza del inglés como lengua extranjera, la lingüística aplicada y estudios críticos del lenguaje. A lo largo de su carrera, ha impartido cursos y dirigido proyectos en licenciatura y posgrado en áreas como la enseñanza del inglés, la sociolingüística, la lingüística aplicada y los estudios críticos del lenguaje.
